I'm setting up a PC specifically for a Minecraft server. This is my first time doing something like this, so I'm seeking advice. The attached image shows your current configuration. Please let me know if you need any adjustments. You're aiming for about five players online at once and want mod support.

I’m not trying to be overly enthusiastic, but AMD seems like a better fit for what you’re looking at. Thanks for joining the discussion!

I was searching for a Ryzen 3100X but thought an i3 would suffice.

Purchase a Ryzen 3 3200G for $100. Upgrade with extra RAM or faster speeds if possible—you probably won’t need a case unless you prefer. The Ryzen is an APU, so it includes its own GPU.

Ryzen offers better value in this setup. Minecraft servers run mainly as single-threaded jobs, making the 9100 a solid choice alongside the 3100 (and even faster than the 3200G). It’s also typically more affordable than Ryzen 3 parts and includes a GPU, which saves costs. The upgraded option is likely the 10100, but it’s harder to find and the boards are pricier.

I understand you're noticing that plugins and mods aren't the most reliable options, especially when compared to Spigot and Bukkit. There seems to be a shortage of plugin support in this setup.

I used the Ryzen 3 2200G for a $400 server setup, but the Ryzen 3 3200G seems more powerful. Should Intel or AMD be preferred?
