Hi, here are the details of my build: Core i5-10400 G.Skill V CL16, 3200MHz, 16GB RAM, MSI Z490 MPG Gaming Edge Wifi, ASUS Strix 1070ti, Seagate FireCuda 500GB SSHD, Seagate Barracuda Computing 2TB HDD.

My issue is with Ethernet: when checking, the error says "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. I ran the troubleshooter but didn’t fix it. I also tried setting a static IP or adjusting DNS settings, but nothing worked. Searching online for similar problems only gave reset instructions. I updated the BIOS on MSI’s site but didn’t change anything else.

The modem/router is off and on, the cable unplugged, yet it still won’t connect. In Device Manager I can’t locate the Wi-Fi driver—it seems missing. I also can’t update it, because the computer won’t reach the internet. I have the antennas included, so I’m unsure why no driver appears.

I’m frustrated after all these attempts and the repeated advice to reset things. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Set up the program for the gadgets listed in the "other devices" section. Focus on the chipset, network drivers, and USB support.

You may not need a Wi-Fi card... Using Ethernet requires the right driver... Did you get a static IP address that matched the router's range?

Choose two options: NIC type and connection method. The screen doesn't show WiFi; if it's wired, run "ipconfig /all" in Command Prompt. If you see 169.254.x.y, your DHCP isn't working—verify cables (server must be online and accessible). For wireless, install the necessary drivers.

Yes, if you're connected via cable, you can send a ping to your modem even without an internet connection.

I thought a software update would resolve the issue, but it turned out the problem was with the network adapter. It's strange since I've assembled six units (not really a specialist) and never faced this before—once the driver got updated, it started interfering with all others.

Certainly. It was evident from the beginning that the network driver was absent.
