Set up a fresh HDD but the computer still won't power on.
I recently purchased a new HDD and Sata cables. I took out my GPU, installed fresh cables for my current drives, and connected them in the same sequence. Then I added a new HDD and connected it. After reinstalling the GPU, I powered on the PC but saw no display output. I restarted by disconnecting the PSU from the outlet because it didn’t respond otherwise. Now my PC keeps power cycling. I reset everything back to its original state before making any changes, but the issue continues. The PSU is only a few months old, so I don’t think it’s the cause. My Rm650x model requires about 300 watts total, and everything worked perfectly before.
Verify that your GPU is connected to the PSU. I missed doing that earlier, which caused the computer to fail to power on. It took some time to resolve the issue. The problem might also stem from the new cables. Remember, never mix power supply cables.
You refer to the SATA data cables that connect to the motherboard or the power cables that link to the power supply.
