You can set up a dual boot between Windows 10 and Ubuntu without using any paid tools. Just install Ubuntu on a separate partition and configure your BIOS or UEFI to switch between the two operating systems when you power on. This way, you’ll have both systems running at the same time.

You're thinking of using a USB drive and exploring various Linux distributions. Manjaro Linux is a solid choice.

You don’t need a spare USB, just enough space on your hard drive to store it.

100gb is more than enough, try 16 instead.

Seek a substantial project to boost productivity, aiming for at least 30-50GB of storage.

You're asking about the purpose of using something once a dual-boot setup is ready.

I choose Linux because it’s lightweight and affordable, perfect for working on a budget. With a free DAW, I can create music without spending much on software. It also gives me flexibility to experiment and build my skills step by step.

I just wanted to mention that dual booting uses storage on the laptop drive, not the USB drive.
