Look into alternative options for connecting your TV to your PC. There are PCI/PCIe cards available that can send integrated graphics through an HDMI output. This might offer a more stable and future-proof solution compared to using adapters.

You might purchase an inexpensive used graphics card. By the way, which motherboard features only a DP port? Edited May 23, 2024 by leclod

You could always purchase a slightly older graphics card with HDMI support. The GTX9XX lineup is likely to be affordable now if you locate a used one. Alternatively, consider HDMI-DP cables instead of using an adapter.

You don’t have a motherboard listed. The only components with display capability are GPUs, which can’t show IGUPI video. For basic video output, consider purchasing an older, inexpensive card.

You're right, active support is only needed from HDMI 2.0 onward. It makes sense that my older HDMI 1.4 adapters were simpler and less expensive.

It's a ThinkCentre M710s laptop used at work. It seems to be using the 00XK134 motherboard.
