Their friends face the same trouble with GTA:Online and their internet setup. The game itself seems to have connection issues, possibly due to a setting in the router. While it might be the router's fault, I think the developers should take responsibility rather than blaming your equipment. Since the servers operate on a peer-to-peer model, Rockstar isn't hosting them.
