Service issues with audio output.
Service issues with audio output.
I'm experiencing a frustrating problem with my PC that's been ongoing for a couple of months. The audio stops unexpectedly, often when I'm not using anything and then resume playing something else. I initially suspected an issue with the Realtek audio chip and had to restart the system to resolve it. Recently, I switched my headphones to Corsair Virtuoso, which has its own sound card, but the problem persists. I discovered a quick solution by using the audio troubleshooter—it reports "audio services were not responding" and temporarily fixes the issue. Sometimes it even removes all output devices. It's unclear what to do next. Are there any suggestions you could share? I'm running Windows 11 version 22H2.
Try reinstalling the audio drivers would be the first thing I would do. There's an application called Driver Store Explorer that I use to install mine as it's tricky to do and follow a specific order to get everything working correctly. Quite easy to uninstall all the Nahimic/Realtek/Sonic studio drivers so I can reinstall them.
I just reviewed the audio device entries in the device manager. It seems the Realtek device was reinstalled during the 22H2 update—possibly replacing the ASRock version. It might have installed a generic Realtek model instead, though that shouldn’t be a big issue. I’ll attempt to reinstall it using the ASRock version and will update you in a few days if it resolves the problem. It’s curious how this affects multiple audio devices at once.
I experienced the same problem on my laptop with Windows 10 a few years ago. It might be related to Realtek drivers.
I removed the drivers with DDU and reinstalled them from the ASRock site. No problems have appeared recently, so it seems resolved. Appreciate your assistance!
Consider reinstalling them via your laptop maker's support site. It could be that Windows is applying default or faulty drivers, similar to what happened before.
