Hello everyone, I have a query. I uploaded a picture of my RAM slots, clearly labeled with the color of each slot. I have two Xeon E5 2690 CPUs, and the problem is that only the blue slots are functioning. Someone mentioned it might be due to the CPU not being seated correctly to allow all slots to work. My mom is hoping someone can help clarify this so I can fix it. I also have server RAM available. Thank you.

Are you attempting to combine different RAM kinds? That might be the issue. My background with Supermicro boards shows they can be quite strict about memory types. If you've filled all the blue slots, you shouldn't run into problems as long as you don’t exceed the processor support limits—2Rx4 handles it well.

No combined RAM configurations were used; only the outer four slots were filled since the heatsink extends beyond them, and nothing was overloaded. They suggested resetting the CPU—would that make sense to try?

It’s not impossible for both connections to fail without a hidden issue. You might want to give it a try if you have extra thermal paste. Which CPU coolers do you have? There are options that won’t obstruct the ports. It could be that the remaining slots aren’t properly secured.
