Hello, I just purchased a VPS running Windows Server 2016. I wasn’t expecting issues with software not installing properly. How can I resolve this problem? Since there’s no server edition available, what options do I have?

Many applications designed for Windows will function on Windows Server as well. However, some exceptions exist, especially regarding security. This might cause issues or not occur. If you truly require specific software to operate, consider using Hyper-V with a Windows 10 license.

Your setup won’t affect performance much since you’re just running one program. Hyper-V on Windows 10 should work fine for your needs.

It will operate based solely on the resources provided. You can run it on Hyper-V, VMware, or VirtualBox. The performance matches the input: 2 cores = 2 cores, 4 GB = 4 GB. That’s how it works.

Please specify the use case for the VPS or Hyper-V instance, and the type of application you need it to support.
