I didn’t plan exactly that. I was thinking of sharing the Steam game folder and syncing it with the drives on each PC. When I install Steam on the machines, I’d just provide the destination. I’m doing this because all the computers need to update Dota2 separately, so the server should handle the updates and let everyone access it without any account conflicts.
I’ll try to make it simpler. If you proceed with mapping these drives and ensure all PCs use the same game version at once, loading times will be terrible. Each machine would need its own Steam account, or Steam will reject the request because it only lets one account play one game at a time. If you’re okay with slow loads and separate accounts per PC, that’s fine. When an update is needed for DOTA, just switch on one computer to update, and the rest should confirm all files are verified and ready to run.
