Absolutely enjoy FF, it’s one of those classics that still resonates with me. My favorites are FFVI, FFVII, and FFIX, but FFVIII and especially FFX are just as impressive. Yes, FFVII might have gotten too much hype, but it was the start of my journey—it introduced me to the world, its story, characters, and stunning visuals that have stayed with me. I’ve revisited it many times since I first played in Midgar 24 years ago. I started as a kid and ended up becoming a SOLDIER first-class; it left a lasting impression. It made me feel sad, excited, and surprised all at once. I remember picking up Resident Evil at a second-hand shop with my mom, hoping to earn some good grades. She gave me the game for free after praising my achievements, though I didn’t keep it long. The store clerk thought it was nice of her to reward my effort, so I got FFVII instead—maybe Blood Omen or something similar. It took a while before I felt ready for it. Coming from mostly PC games like Doom and Quake, this was a big shift. After finishing FFVII, I was hooked instantly. It was a game changer for me. I quickly sought out more titles in the same vein—Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and others. Thanks to you, Resident Evil became a passion of mine. My dad even modified it to bypass age restrictions so I could play it, showing how much it meant to him.
