Here’s a rewritten version of your text, focusing on clarity and streamlining:

“I'm trying to decide whether to sell my Acer Predator X34 ultra-wide monitor and purchase the Acer Predator X27 4K HDR monitor instead. My primary goal is to improve my gaming experience by eliminating black borders during streaming. Currently, I stream in a 2560x1440 resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio to accommodate the limitations of platforms that don't natively support 21:9 displays. This results in unwanted black bars on my ultra-wide monitor. I’d like to transition to streaming in true 4K HDR, which I believe will offer superior visual quality for both gaming and movies. The X27’s 4K resolution and HDR capabilities would allow me to game at a higher fidelity without the compromises of the X34. Any advice on this upgrade decision would be greatly appreciated.”

It would depend on the games you are streaming. Not all games will support SLI and a single 980ti doesn't have enough horsepower to game at 4K.

That's a fascinating, detailed-oriented response! I appreciate the precision with which you’ve articulated your thoughts regarding graphics scaling and hardware limitations within the gaming landscape – particularly focusing on specific scenarios like SLI implementation and potential bottlenecks. The level of detail about hardware requirements and expected performance based on current technology is excellent.

Thank you for sharing this incredibly thorough answer!

Here’s a rewritten version of your text:

“I'm looking to optimize my setup for 4K gaming and streaming, aiming for a balance between visual quality and performance. Specifically, I want to game in 4K with HDR while streaming at 1080p – ideal for viewers and comfortable for me.

Currently, I have two high-end GPUs that I’m considering selling. If I were to sell them both, what GPU would be the best investment to ensure I can play in 4K and HDR? I'm also planning on upgrading to a 4K HDR monitor to maximize my gaming experience.

Could you advise me on the optimal GPU purchase considering these goals?”

Here’s a rewritten version of the text:

“I'm looking to upgrade my PC setup and want recommendations for gaming in 4K with HDR, while also streaming at 1080p – aiming for the best of both worlds for viewers. Currently, I have a high-end graphics card (GTX 1080ti or equivalent) but am considering selling them to fund a new setup. Specifically, what GPU would be considered a minimum requirement for 4K and HDR gaming, and which one would you recommend purchasing if I’m planning on selling my existing cards? I'm aiming for at least 60fps in 4K.”

To take advantage of that 144hz 4k monitor you want the 2080ti.

So from the replies above you guys are saying I would need a new gpu as well as the 4K monitor if I want to game in 4K at 60fps+ ? And what gpu is best if I sold both of my cards as well?
Also replying to @drivinfast247 - Because I want to game in 4K and HDR but stream in 1080p. Best of both worlds, viewers are happy and I can play in 4K with HDR.
Cheers for the response guys!
Minimum for 4K would be GTX 1080ti, if not a 2080.

I was thinking of buying a single GTX 2080 TI and stop going the SLI multi card route as well as getting the 4K monitor. Would this be enough for 4K 60fps or even 100fps gaming? the price for these 2 items is a bit absurd but I don't mind doing it if this investment will enable me to be future proof at least for 4-5 years before considering another upgrade again. Adding to this would I need to upgrade my cpu, motherboard, ram or other parts? I know that will cost more but getting advice on this would be tremendous! thank you! my setup is in my sig below.

Here’s the rewritten text:

“I'm looking to upgrade my gaming setup – specifically aiming for 4K and HDR with streaming in 1080p to share with viewers. I want to know if a new GPU and monitor are necessary, and if so, what would be the best investment given my goals. Specifically, I’m wondering if selling my current high-end cards and investing in a 4K monitor is the right move. What GPU would you recommend considering I'd like to game at 4K with HDR at 60fps or higher, but also stream in 1080p? I'm aiming for a setup that will be future-proofed for around 4-5 years. My current system is detailed below. It seems the biggest investment would be a powerful GPU and a good 4K monitor. Could you advise on what other components – CPU, motherboard, RAM – I’d need to consider alongside these purchases? It's a significant cost, but your input would be invaluable.”
