Selecting Ryzen processor for pairing with 1080 Ti display
Fascinating, I'm also playing this but reaching well above 100 FPS (1080p at 144Hz). Your GPU usage is around the 60s, so you're likely in the high 80s to 90s for GPU efficiency. Have you considered updating or removing and reinstalling drivers?
You can find the top 2700X offering great performance. The 3700X provides double the cost for about 13% more speed... https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AM...4043vs3958 For 4K gaming, the 2700X seems like the best option under $170.
These contrasts don't make sense. The nearly double cost for a 13% discount isn't reasonable. I'm keeping the site for later, seems like it could be useful. Thanks!
Many games rely on just one or two cores for rendering, so I use Cinebench R15 single-core results to gauge CPU performance. As games gain more cores, their impact lessens but it’s still useful now. The R73700X scores 204, the i7 8700K scores 208, and the R7200X is 177—close to the i7 6700K at 180. I’d prefer the 7200X over the 6700K since more cores usually mean a better experience, even if frame rates don’t improve much. Watching comparison videos on YouTube can help too, like this one showing performance differences between the 3700X and the i7 8700K at similar settings.
