Selecting a PSU for replacement
Selecting a PSU for replacement
As far as I can tell, no one is dominating the OP. In fact, offering assistance is part of the process. We recognize that many of you are long-standing members like Geo, hailing from areas where quality hardware is scarce. There’s no doubt about this, and we won’t argue with it—should anyone challenge it, I’ll address them directly. Still, there’s no excuse for not being honest about the reality: if you’re forced to choose between a poor product and a better one, the outcome will still be disappointing.
As long as the OP keeps this in mind, aim for the least disappointing option available and hope for the best. I understand some people don’t take it that seriously, and others feel we’re being too direct about power supplies. We’re just trying to stay realistic. If that’s not enough, perhaps a stronger attitude would help everyone steer clear of mistakes.
This isn’t about pretending to be better than everyone else or hiding in comfort zones. It’s simply because we’ve seen the situation firsthand—many top members and moderators here have been doing this for years, even before certifications existed. We don’t rely on credentials as a source of confidence. Instead, we share our real experiences, which, while not identical to others’, are usually accurate.
I won’t retreat from my views based on personal experience, and I expect the same from others.
