Selecting a new direction?
No. Stay away from H610. Even for a 12100, it's just waste.
What makes sense is ditching DDR4, since it matches or beats DDR5 in speed and is cheaper. Perhaps next year DDR5 will be worth it for a new build, but right now DDR4 remains the better option for those on a budget.
If you opt for CHEAP DDR5, you're just paying for nothing extra—just cost.
Upgrading your current PC is what I recommend.
Just to add to the discussion, the 5700x3d stands out as the straightforward option. It eliminates the need for complex conditions like 'if's, 'ands' or 'buts'. This approach offers the strongest performance with minimal investment. As noted, it provides reliable support in gaming for 2-3 years. Avoid spending on a 12th Gen processor—it's more expensive and offers only marginal improvement. It doesn't qualify as a genuine upgrade.
I won't choose the h610 d5. The 5700x3d seems promising but it's quite costly right now, I can't afford it yet. Now I'm thinking about whether upgrading to a 5600 is worth it or not. It would cost around 1250TRY after selling the 3600, which is about 35 EURO if converted.
Comparing the Ryzen 5 3600 and 5600 is tricky. Upgrading to a Zen 3 would be better for first-gen CPUs, but what about those with Zen 2, like the Ryzen...
I plan to use the 6600xt for a while, then switch to a used 6700xt and possibly 3070/3070Ti/6800/6800xt soon. My monitor is 1080p and has an AOCC 24G2SPAE/BK.
Should I keep my 3600 until I can upgrade to something like 5700x3d or 7500f to 7800x3d? Or is it better to go with the 5600 instead?
Ah, wasn't it a bit uncertain?
Examining this content shows that the advantages of the 5600 over the 3600 largely depend on the game. There are noticeable spikes in FPS for certain titles, and in IPC as well, indicating a clear improvement.
the most cost-efficient route varies based on your goals
choosing full future-proofing means opting for AM5
if you're aiming for a small upgrade, replacing the B450 with a B550 will unlock PCIe Gen 4 and PCIe Gen 4 NVMe speeds
you can then switch to a more affordable X3D option for gaming or a 12-core CPU depending on your needs
personally I’d pick the 12-core if you’re streaming
Let me ask you this, have you tried using AMD FSR in demanding games?
If you still don’t see the boost, I’d recommend saving up for the 5700X3D.
With that GPU, you can easily reach over 100 fps without RT in the toughest titles.
Just give a bit more time before upgrading your GPU.
Save up and get the 5700X3D – it’s the smart choice for gaming performance on a budget.
