Selecting a cooler for Core 2 Quad Q9400
Hi everyone. I have an MSI P43 neo-f mobo with 4x2 DDR2 at 800MHz and a Core 2 Quad Q9400. I'm planning to overclock it to around 3.6 MHz, though I'm open to higher speeds if possible. My case's airflow isn't great, and I have a 2009 Inwin case where I can't even fit a front cooler. I'm wondering which cooler would work best—should I go with the Hyper 212 Evo or look for something better? Thanks in advance!
It depends on your budget, but for an older CPU like that, the 212 EVO seems suitable. It offers better cooling than you might expect, especially since the CPU has a locked multiplier and all your overclocking will need to be done at the base clock. Make sure you have enough space for the 6.3" tall 212 EVO.
