I'm looking for the most value here, staying within a tight budget. My choices are limited to these options: KINGSTON FURY RENEGADE (3600MHZ/CL16) for $90.30, PATRIOT VIPER STEEL/DDR4 (3733MHZ/CL17) at $73.50, PATRIOT VIPER ELITE II (4000MHZ/CL20) for $72.45, and PATRIOT VIPER STEEL (4000MHZ/CL19) for $99.75. Which one feels best overall? I'm leaning toward the elite 2.
With those components, a 3200MHz GPU wouldn’t slow things down much, even on budget builds. Are they more expensive?
None of these suggestions are worthwhile. The 12100F is set to lock VCCSA voltage, meaning the speed of 3600MT/s will perform equally well or poorly. It’s best to use a 3200MT/s CL16 RAM setup; anything else greatly increases the chance of hitting Gear 2 and results in poor performance.
Renegade CL16 is a modified version of the original CL16 model.
Retrieve the 3733 CL17 model, activate XMP settings, and choose a reduced frequency such as 3200MHz. Increase the frequency if needed after testing.
