I know a friend who struggles with memory and depends on her phone calendar app for daily organization. Recently, she faced problems deleting entries from her Google Calendar, which clearly caused her a lot of worry. She isn’t very comfortable with technology, but I’m more tech-savvy; however, I don’t use calendars much in my everyday routine. From what I understand, Google Calendar doesn’t offer automatic backups, so I’ve suggested she start manually saving her calendar while I investigate whether there are apps that can handle this automatically. If she ever runs into the same issue again, she could restore her calendar completely. I’ve found it quite challenging though—there are hundreds of apps claiming to be better, and searching online leads to many misleading sites focused mainly on Google Calendar. I’m checking out apps that manage multiple calendars, like Any.do, but finding reliable backup information is difficult. Anyone have experience with this situation or any advice? Thank you!

This isn't a simple matter. Many applications aren't really designed with seniors in mind and sometimes even go against that. The primary goal seems to be simply pushing advertisements directly onto the user's screen. Additionally, the use of small text, tiny buttons, and minor updates only complicate things further... leading to confusion for the end user.

What device does your friend own? Is it a smartphone, a family member's device, or perhaps yours? It might also be stored on other devices, such as those connected to the cloud.

FYI:

Hopefully this helps narrow down the search a bit.

They're actually pretty young but have a memory issue, so a simple calendar app with automatic backups works just fine. It's hard to find reliable backup options on app sites—it looks like a big gap in the market since Google Calendar doesn't really offer this feature. The phone seems to be an Oppo model, not a specific version.

I discovered this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...n_US&gl=US
After looking through several options for "apps to back up cell phone calendars," I paid close attention to the data it might collect. Be sure to review any terms related to the EUA.
