You're considering the right components for your setup. For MS Flight Sim at 4K, 3200 or 3600 MHz RAM should work well. The Asus MB supports up to 16GB in two slots, so starting with that is a solid plan. If needed, you can upgrade later. Adding extra slots and memory cards will help as your needs grow.

3200 should work well for the coming five years or more, depending on when DDR5 becomes affordable and practical for regular users. Go for 3600 if you can afford it and prefer a faster option.

If I were making a recommendation, I'd suggest the 3600 model. The 3200 would work just as well on Intel's current setup.

Choose a 3200 cl16/14 or a 3600 cl16 kit for your needs. For storage, if you require 32 gigabytes, opting for two 16-gigabit kits is ideal. Since the kits are similar, bandwidth remains comparable to a 4x8 configuration, offering flexibility for future upgrades.

For MS Flight Sim focused play, the choice depends on your graphics card model (as discussed on game-debate.com). You can typically use 32 GB of ultra memory paired with your CPU. 16 GB DIMMs tend to perform worse than 8 GB DIMMs, but combining 4x8 GB instead of 2x16 GB may cause memory controller stress. Unless you plan to push overclocks beyond the RAM’s maximum speed (such as enabling XMP in BIOS), this is likely not a major concern. A 2x16 GB setup seems safe. Make sure your RAM supports its rated speed—activate XMP if available. Overall, faster RAM is better, but costs rise significantly at the highest speeds. Above 4000MHz becomes costly and risky; performance may drop or become unstable even with a capable motherboard. Compatibility isn’t guaranteed for every configuration, so stick to trusted brands and ensure your hardware list matches specifications.
