Seeking guidance on boosting a Dinasour's performance (PH II X4 965 BE).
It was running at 50 and increased to 70 when under full load, which wasn't comfortable for me. I adjusted the FSB to 200, set the multiplier to 18.5, and lowered the voltage to 1.40V. Idle temperatures dropped into the low 40s, and load temps stayed below 60. I can definitely push it up to 3.9 or 4 GHz at 1.47V, but I'm worried my TX3 EVO won't handle it well. Thanks for the responses!
I was testing that processor at 4.2GHz @1.505v on a Gigabyte 890 MB, running nonstop with around 55-60°C max. It required a Mugen3 cooler to maintain stability. It's now retired but remains available as a spare. If you're setting the FSB, reduce the RAM multiplier slightly—it's only 1333 MHz in this chip, and pushing it further can cause instability and extra heat, which isn't worth the effort.
