In my country they sell similar prices. I understand that the B550 provides faster RAM speeds and PCIe 4, while the Steel Legend appears more premium with additional ports. What should you pick? Are there further distinctions to consider?
3600x offers a similar price point, and the cooler design looks appealing. The XPG TUF Alliance RAM 3200mhz is available from a local seller as a bundle with memory and RAM.
The B550M Pro4 stands out as the best option when prices match, though I wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s the sole choice available.
@Mateyyy why? I really enjoy Asrock boards and prefer white builds. Here are my options: Asus ROG Strix B450 F, Asus B450m-PRO Gaming, TUF Gigabyte B450, Aorus M, Asrock B450m Steel Legend, and Non M versions. All of these are similar in price. Keep in mind I’m not planning any overclocking or anything else—I just want a reliable system with room for future upgrades.

I’d pick the B550M Pro4. The B450 Steel Legend is essentially a B450 Pro4 with RGB and inferior VRMs. Still, it can handle a 6-core setup just fine—actually any of the boards you mentioned would work, or even an 8-core like the 3700X. For 12+ cores or overclocking, performance could drop significantly, limiting upgrade potential. Personally, I’d avoid the B550 Pro4 unless MSI offers better VRMs elsewhere. In practice, the B550 Pro4 should function with a 3950X under stock settings.
