Seeking guidance for setting up a dedicated day trading PC.
I got 40$ up from 5$ after using deriv accumulator, but lost everything in a day because of aggressive revenge trading. It’s a tight window—sometimes just a few seconds separates profit and loss in day trading. That’s frustrating. For longer-term swings, it doesn’t seem to matter much unless you’re aiming for quick entries with a small account. I think it’s better to build up some cash first instead of wasting time on tiny positions. I’m not good at sharp entries or day trading, so I’d rather let a position sit and recover than risk margin calls and losing my account. I guess you’re trading with a solid amount of money, not the kind of high-risk forex content you see on some YouTube channels.
Taking everything on with full margin is risky, regardless of account size. Handling trades effectively is crucial, particularly when managing losses. If your overall balance is positive, you don’t require a huge account or high leverage to expand your funds rapidly. I’ll remain composed and wait for the upcoming processor updates before investing in a new trading setup at the optimal moment.
I assume I'll apply a 20$ discount on the accumulators and begin there. Start with the smallest position since tiny accounts are vulnerable to rapid changes in that high-probability environment when I first use the laptop for trading. Mobile MT5 doesn't have EMA, so I won't waste time adjusting it. Keep trading based on the trend instead.
I don't believe you'll see significant improvement beyond a 7840HS. Your Wi-Fi might reduce some delay if you go hardwired, but anything beyond the internet won't feel instant. I switched off the main system and used a HX 370 mini PC mainly to avoid overheating in the office during summer. This machine is more than enough for your needs but doesn't require much power. Now I just run the powerful computer for gaming.
