Hello everyone, I have a concern about my AsRock Z370 Killer SLI setup I purchased secondhand from an unreliable seller. Several pins were bent, but after using a magnifying glass and a needle, I managed to fix them. After installing my i5-9600K, the system works perfectly. I’ve played a few games on CSGO and Destiny before running Cinebench r15. Now I’m seeing a very low score around 600. I checked HWInfo – temperatures are between 70-80°C, clock stability is 4.6GHz, which seems normal for a 9th-gen chipset. I’ve tried some overclocking settings: multiplier x50, cache x45, LLC level 1, core voltage offset +100. It boots and scores around 1000 on Cinebench, but the temperatures are extremely high and it throttles. My question is, could the bent pins be affecting performance? Or is there another area I should focus on to improve my results? My build details are: motherboard AsRock Z370 Killer SLI, processor i5 9600K, cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED Turbo RAM, Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 2666 (2x8GB), PSU Corsair CX750M 80+ Bronze, boot drive Apacer AS340 120GB SSD SATA III. I’m seeking advice on how to get better scores and build performance. Thanks!

Did you configure all power, current and protection limits to their maximums? An 8700k at 5 ghz (6C/12T) should achieve around 1650 CB. I anticipate a 6-core CPU without HT would score about 1350—this is likely an underestimate. I can verify if you'd like; it's a simple process, though my estimate might be a bit higher because of the larger L3 cache.

I don’t know the exact location of those settings. You’ll need to check your BIOS for your motherboard. There are many overclocking guides available on YouTube or Google; searching those should help you find what you need. I’m not able to assist with a different board unless you share more details.

I achieved a score of 1300 under those specific settings—5 GHz, 9900K clock speed, Hyperthreading off, and two cores disabled. With more L3 cache, you were close to the expected range. I’d estimate around 1200-1250, but it depends on your workload. Running Windows clean without background apps helps improve accuracy.

CPU Ratio : All Core Core ratio : x50 Cache ratio : x45 Intel Speedstep : On Intel Turbo Boost : On Intel Speed Shift : On Long Duration Power Limit : Auto Long Duration Maintained : Auto Short Duration Power Limit : Auto CPU Core Current Limit Voltage Mode : Offset Offset Voltage : 100mV CPU LLC : Level 2 CPU Fan : Maximum (1600rpm) Push Pull Setup Scores I recorded are below. When testing with a 20-second window, the scores drop gradually—likely due to thermal throttling. I suspect my cooler isn’t handling the heat from the CPU well enough. I’m planning to order a Corsair H115i and hope it will perform better than my current 212. Curious, what temperature did you reach during bench testing? Also, could you run CB r15 with the stock i5-9600k configuration? It’s clocked at 3.7GHz base and 4.6GHz turbo. I’m curious if my current score could match yours. Thanks a lot!
