I’ve placed an order for a second SSD and plan to configure my PC with both Linux and Windows. Since Steam OS isn’t available yet, I’m looking for alternatives that closely match it and might support EMUDECK. I’m comfortable with Linux but not experienced, so I need something user-friendly. Any recommendations?

Yeah... Pop OS isn't quite as impressive as they claim. I was hoping for something closer to Steam OS or Holo ISO. Maybe I'll settle for what's available. But I won't use it because of the Russian connections. I don't want to jump into a political debate, but I need to say I won't use it.

The full-screen steam experience seems to stem from SteamOS, though I might be mistaken. Pop!_OS appears close to Russia, even though its headquarters are in Denver, Colorado.

Holo iso comes from a Russian developer backing Putin. I'm holding off on using it. It seems minor since it's free, but I need to figure out next steps. I've used Ubuntu before and it worked well, though I'd like to try Arch for a similar setup on my deck.

first thing to ease your worry is that it's an open source tool that basically just bootstraps official valve software. second, it is a 17 year old furry. while I see your concern I think this is an reasonable time to separate the art from the artist But, as your concerns are valid, arch is fun and I do recommend it for the sake of speed

I understand your perspective. It seems strange and the world has changed a lot since last year. I’m considering Manjaro—it’s said to be more user-friendly on Linux, though that’s unclear. I’ve only used Ubuntu and Mint, so it might differ. I’m excited about it. Now I’m back at work, teaching German students and Ukrainian refugees in the classroom.

I wouldn't recommend Manjaro due to its occasional software and management issues. While there are solid installation tools for Arch Linux, many find it better to install manually for a cleaner experience. If you prefer a simpler alternative that still runs on Arch, EndeavourOS is a great option!

I'm starting from scratch with Arch Linux. To be truthful, I've only used Ubuntu before and have some Steam Deck experience. I'm hoping to get through this process.
