Hi everyone, I shared my plan earlier and now I’m upgrading my 8GB RAM to 16GB. It was causing issues while downloading a game alongside another program. After reviewing my usage, it hit over 90%. I’m seeking recommendations for quality RAM modules. Right now I’m using G. Skill Ripjaws V at 3200mhz. I’m considering budget options and wondering if sticking with this brand is wise. I’m unsure about the ideal price for 16GB. Thanks!

Ram is currently a great deal and the link points to a price around $5, possibly up to $10 less than the lowest option. It’s worth it for the performance gain you’ll get.

Notably, the 3200mhz model costs five dollars less... I'm curious about the reason behind it.

I also thought those would work, but they weren’t available. You can find them nearby if you prefer a more affordable option. For a budget-friendly choice, check out the single sticks here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YP6...UTF8&psc=1

Would you mind helping me verify this RAM? I haven't used any of this brand before.

I'm mainly concerned about the Ryzen CPU's sensitivity to RAM... back when I had my R5 2400g, I faced a lot of trouble getting it to function properly. Now I've switched to a R5 1600 AF and it's all good (maintained same timings in UEFI)... I'm hoping this new RAM will install without issues right out of the box.

I’ll note that a 1600AF seems more selective than a 2400G, and your motherboard matters. I’ve faced RAM compatibility problems before, but most are fixed now—though you might not hit the advertised frequency. I currently use a 3200MHz DDR4 kit, and in gaming, if I let my PC run without XMP settings, it usually stabilizes around 2132MHz compared to 3200, so the performance gap isn’t huge. If you get RAM rated at 2666MHz with no XMP enabled, I think you’ll be okay. I’d still prefer spending $15–$20 on Corsair if possible.

Find the latest motherboard BIOS updates that boost RAM performance. Your 3200 struggled at 3200MHz on your 2600, but after the newest BIOS release it automatically adjusts to 3200 and runs smoothly—performance improves over time.

I’d prefer matching or better RAM speeds. Right now I’m content with 3200mhz when there’s enough memory available. My Steam games, particularly when Oculus is running, become extremely slow. It might just mean the Steam suite isn’t performing well.
