After my recent find that Microsoft's Windows Image Backup doesn't work on damaged systems or empty drives, I'm searching for a better backup solution. This site suggests R-Drive is their top choice. They mention it can be mounted as a VHD, which is important. I'm unsure about other options beyond that. I've downloaded the R-drive but didn't find a direct backup option. Instead, I created backups of the system drive, UEF system partition, and Windows recovery partition using VHD. However, when I tried to restore them elsewhere, it failed to boot. I'm not sure if I made a mistake. Are there other programs that can create system backups from Windows and actually work?

I rely on NovaBACKUP for both data protection and system imaging. It handles daily backups of essential files while supporting both local and Amazon cloud storage seamlessly. I’ve set it up to generate monthly system images, which I haven’t needed before. The tool produces a bootable USB drive used for OS repair tasks. After testing, it boots successfully and mounts the operating system. The cost is fair, they keep the software updated, and their support is reliable.

It looks genuine with a VHDX file. If the restoration function operates correctly, I’ll consider it further. Appreciate the help!
