You mentioned issues with a purchase, a failed attempt on eBay, and uncertainty about next steps. Let me know what you'd like to focus on next.

It seems like this situation is quite serious and potentially illegal. I relied on PayPal for handling the matter. They have procedures in place for cases like this. It appears you were deceived and had your belongings taken. This could be a criminal matter involving fraud or theft. The company may have the contact details of the person responsible, and they might technically own the device. The original owner seems to have sold his monitor after it broke, but instead of returning it, they sold it to you. This behavior could be considered mail fraud. I would contact the authorities for assistance. Updated: January 31, 2023 by Bombastinator

The reason eBay rejected the money-back protection case was due to specific policy or procedural grounds. You can review the details by searching for guidance on appealing eBay claims.

Choose PayPal for assistance. If not, contact the relevant service. Back in the day, using PayPal was the safest way to protect yourself on eBay. Today there are alternatives, though their reliability varies. Western Union won’t help you out. If you sent money through them, it’s odd they delivered anything at all—possibly to hide something. Why bother with postage then? Updated Feb 1, 2023 by Bombastinator
