Security measures for a server against DDoS attacks
OPNSense is a modified version of PFSense with many added features out of the box, including an IPS that wasn’t included in the original. It’s especially reliable and comes pre-installed with useful tools. The key point is that PfSense is free for non-commercial use and is owned by Netgate. OPNSense follows a BSD License and can be used commercially at no cost—just purchase premium support if needed. Cloudflare performs well too. You might also consider a bastion host via AWS or Azure, and a jumphost setup could work well. It’s wise to avoid depending on just one solution.
