You're experiencing an issue where dragging a file triggers an error with code 0x800700E1. After searching for solutions, disabling Windows Security Real-Time Protection seems to resolve the problem. However, you can't locate the setting in any window. You're currently stuck in Windows Defender Notepad and Control Panel Notepad, but it only appears when another antivirus is installed. Since you haven’t installed one yourself, here’s how you might proceed:

1. **Check for third-party antivirus interference** – Ensure no additional security software is running.
2. **Try disabling Windows Security temporarily** – Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Defender > Advanced settings > Real-time protection.
3. **Restart your PC** – Sometimes a simple restart clears temporary issues.
4. **Update drivers and software** – Outdated drivers or software can cause conflicts.
5. **Reset Windows Defender** – If the issue persists, consider resetting it via Control Panel or Settings.

If none of these work, you may need to consult your IT support or contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.

The file format is likely related to a program, and it’s important to close it in Task Manager. This behavior resembles error messages seen during file copying operations.

Uncertain about its purpose on Windows, what could be the reason for relocating it?

there isn't a choice to launch it with admin rights—it simply runs quietly in the background.
