You have an older laptop, the 840 G5, that once worked well but now shows a blank screen. It had no SSD or RAM, and after installing RAM, pressing F2 and F10 brought it back to life. The screen displayed a picture you mentioned. It seems the issue might be related to the boot drive or SSD not being installed. The fact that it boots with the fans spinning and keyboard lighting up suggests some hardware is still present, but the lack of a bootable drive or proper storage could be the cause.

It seems you need the security token to start. Otherwise, it's just a nice night light.

It's a specific item you're asking about, but the details aren't clear. Could you provide more context or clarify what you mean?

A security key can sometimes be a USB stick provided by an organization's IT team to employees. This ensures that only authorized users can access the computer's data. The only legitimate method to obtain a key is through an authorized employee of the issuing company. For non-employees, it may be challenging to acquire one. However, you might attempt to boot from the USB stick if the BIOS remains unlocked.

I attempted to install a new SSD with Windows 10, and it functioned well initially. After signing in and receiving the Windows Update notification, the system became slow due to numerous pending updates. The device prompted a restart and then initiated a reimage, which completed successfully after a restart. Once the update finished, the laptop shut down promptly. During the first reboot, it was connected via an AC adapter. When I restarted and updated again, I removed the SSD, but it shut down immediately after the update completed. After powering it back on, it began blinking the caps lock and numpad keys seven times before shutting down. The power indicator remains lit, even with the charging port active. I've tried booting from a BIOS update USB drive using Win+B, but the behavior hasn't changed.
