He could simply download the latest release. To date, no security problems have been identified. I won’t allow the authorities to dictate which encryption methods are permissible or not.

Folder Lock is straightforward to use and secures folders with a password. It seems it involves some cost, but there might be alternatives. The application secures files using a master password that must be entered during startup. Once locked, files disappear from view and can't be searched. Updated September 13, 2014 by MCiLuZiioNz

The safest approach is to store everything in an archive and secure it with a password. If you prefer, use a tool like AxCrypt—it lets you set a password or keyfile for access. I rely on a keyfile on a flash drive to protect my files; it works well because I don’t have to remember passwords or worry about them being lost. I recently tried password-protecting a rar archive without remembering the password, but since it contained only random data, nothing was at risk. A mistake happened when someone accessed my computer after I left; they wiped everything and joked about finding my CPU in the microwave.
