You just acquired a new residence with fiber internet. Great! The cable was moved from the street to the basement, which is convenient. A concern is that the thin cable now lies across a brick wall and sits close to the ground, making it vulnerable to damage from lawn equipment or other hazards. Anyone familiar with protecting such cables would appreciate advice on safeguarding it effectively? I considered using flexible hose as a protective measure but wanted more guidance. Thanks!

They provide protective layers for wires in this setup. You might want to swap the fiber for a more durable option. Their products include tough cables.

They didn’t choose tougher wiring, which is unexpected. Replacing it in this setup could be challenging. I’m considering using the U-shaped conduit I discovered.

It’s likely the cable stays with the service provider and runs as one unbroken segment back to their aggregation point. Most folks probably don’t own a fusion splicer, and if it’s a PON setup, you could disrupt neighbors or risk eye damage from the laser. You’d want to avoid disconnecting it from your ONT/router altogether.
