You own a budget Asus netbook-like laptop. It runs Windows 11, but you want to switch to your preferred Linux distribution. When using the flash drive as a boot option, you encounter a Secure Boot error. The BIOS settings don’t allow changes to this issue. Others have faced the same problem?

According to C2dan88, disable Secure Boot. The ASUS setup had the Power On button near the keyboard, not elsewhere. Be careful not to press it when using Backspace or Delete. If it were my setup, I’d likely cover the power ON switch with a half cover.

Secure boot functions properly. Turn it off to start booting Linux, set up the distribution, and if the OS allows, reinstall secure boot afterward.

Yes, you had to create a supervisor password to modify it, which happened with my Acer laptop.

Supervisor Password – 1234. Disable Secure Boot and then remove the password since it’s not required for any function. This avoids unnecessary complications later, especially if someone else needs to adjust the BIOS.
