Your friend got an Intel i7 2600, but the ASUS ROG B360H is built on the 8th generation Intel architecture. It should work fine with your processor.

It’s an older processor with an LGA1155 socket, such as the B75 Z68 or Z77 chipsets. You’ll only find good prices for it in the used market right now. Since it’s about eight years old, these parts are becoming rarer.
You won't find a new second-generation motherboard available. The best choice is a refurbished one. Verify it supports socket 1155 and has a chipset identifier like 6, B65, Q67, Z68 or 7, B75, Q77, Z77.
The motherboard you have (ASUS ROG STRIX B360-H) won’t work with a second generation CPU because of chipset mismatch. You’ll need a newer LGA 1151 board, which is hard to find and usually more expensive. Whether it’s worth using the i7-2600 depends on how affordable you can get a used or refurbished version.
