So my partner and I are taking a break from Minecraft, searching for alternatives we can enjoy together.
The challenge is the difference in our gaming setups. She uses a decent PC that can handle most modern titles, while I’m limited to an older laptop that works fine for Minecraft but struggles with more demanding games.
This wouldn’t be such a big problem if she wasn’t solely a PC gamer—she doesn’t play consoles at all, and I have access to them.
I was hoping you could offer some ideas on games we could try together. Something that my partner might actually run, or one that supports crossplay between PC and console.
We’re big fans of Minecraft and similar titles like 7 days to die. We planned to play Elder Scrolls Online, assuming it had crossplay (I have it on PS4), but I found out it doesn’t.
We also enjoy farming/crafting games such as "My Time at Portia," though she’s decided against playing Stardew Valley—probably because of its retro pixel style.
I jokingly suggested Fortnite, since it has crossplay, and she politely declined. Really, we’re not interested in battle royale or MOBA games.
I proposed Diablo 3, thinking my laptop could handle it, but I haven’t received any feedback yet.
We’re open to almost anything, so if you have a co-op game she’d like, feel free to share. All ideas are welcome.
Attached is a blurry image of her Steam library, as she doesn’t know how to use printscreen.

Never imagined San Andreas would support multiplayer. Would such an old game still have active servers?

I'm a big fan of Diablo II, it supports both online (Battle.Net) and LAN multiplayer.
Diablo III is good for a more modern option.
Torchlight II is a similar option that, like Diablo II, supports online and LAN multiplayer.
The Portal games I think support co-op, and you can play with others on Gmod too. Left for Dead II I know supports co-op, and I think Left for Dead does as well.
It's a mod for San Andreas. There's also MTA:SA, though I haven't played either in years, so I don't know how active servers on each of them are anymore.

Torchlight requires less power on the graphics card compared to Diablo. It should be simpler to operate.

LF2/ little fighter 2 works well with v1.9 and no ads. Supports up to 4 players on one PC. Also open source, can be played locally or online with a maximum of 4 players.

They're still quite engaged.
Skyrim Together is also a solid choice.

I don't really enjoy beat 'em ups, but I've enjoyed things like golden axe before, so I'm considering looking into it.
