Searching for options to boost settings on your older system
They swapped their TV and used their old one to upgrade mine in their house.
I own my old rig there—i7 960, OC to 4GHz, GTX 970, 12 GB DDR3.
My new TV is full HD while mine is 4K. I’m searching for games that run at maximum performance and look great without exceeding a smooth 60fps on my old setup.
I’m considering titles like Far Cry 3 or the Arkham series but haven’t tried them yet.
Do you have any recommendations?
Hundreds of games can run smoothly at 45-60 fps in 4K on that TV. Pushing settings too high only reduces your frame rate. It’s better to tweak the settings yourself, keeping the ones that don’t impact fps while leaving the rest higher. If done right, visual quality stays intact and the game runs much more fluidly. All Ultra titles are for those who enjoy them.
I recommend games such as Battlefield 1 or 4, Ghost Recon Wildlands, The Division, The Witcher III, Doom, or Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice. If your budget allows, try to get these when prices drop soon.
Feel free to ask if you need help adjusting graphics settings for better performance without sacrificing visual quality. This process differs per game and is something I’ve managed over time.
