It's not a huge waste of time, probably around ten hours? Anyway, Spec Ops: The Line has some crazy content, the most intense story I've seen in any shooter. The latest Wallenstein and its expansion are great too. Space Engineers is quite enjoyable but uses a lot of resources. Playing with a couple friends is really fun, and there are many downloadable scenarios. Also, World of Warships is a lot of fun if you like that style of game.

For lengthy games, consider Fallout 4 with Automatron, Far Harbor, and Nuka World DLCS. Also try Dota 2 if you're looking for a game that keeps going and challenges you endlessly.
