I'm assembling a water-cooled system but my existing board lacks a temp sensor header, so I'm searching for an alternative. Since I've just invested heavily in water cooling gear—including an Intel cooling plate for my 10600k—I'm hesitant to switch to the X570 just yet. I also want to explore what Alder Lake offers by year-end. Essentially, I need a budget-friendly board that supports my 10600k, includes SLI capability, and has a temperature sensor. The Asus Prime Z390-A comes with a 2-pin T_SENSOR connector, works with SLI, and is fairly affordable... Is this a poor choice? Are there better options worth the extra cost?

Z390 isn't compatible with 10th generation Intel processors. Use Z490 or Z590 instead.

Okay, so...apologies for the double post...just spotted it doesn't support my processor... ...so, same question but for a board with an Z490 chipset? Edit: The Asus Prime Z490-A is the least expensive SLI board I can find that will support a 10600k and has a temperature sensor... ...I'm wondering if it'd be worth me going a little more expensive. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Compon...ME-Z490-A/

Keep your current motherboard and opt for a Corsair Commander Pro or comparable option.

This will allow me to connect a temperature sensor. Edit: That's really interesting!
