Hello. I’m aiming to upgrade my PC soon. Someone generously sent me a 1070 with 32GB DDR4 RAM and an i7 5820K. What I still need are a motherboard and power supply. The power supply is easy for me, but the motherboard isn’t available anymore and the ones I find are quite pricey. Do you have any recommendations or places where I can get a better deal? I’m in the UK and want to stay under £150 for the board.

Invest in a socket AM4 motherboard costing around 70-80 pounds, then allocate the remainder for a Ryzen 1600 AF / 2600. Consider selling the 5820k on eBay for approximately 95 dollars. Look for listings on ebay.co.uk priced between 70 and 100 thousand pounds. Aim for a purchase in the 50-60 thousand range and sell quickly. The best value is around 3900x with additional VRM cooling, priced at 67 UK pounds.

For the motherboard, options include:
- Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 (B450M DS3H) – suitable for up to 8 cores, supports 3900x with extra cooling.
- ASRock B450M Pro4-F Micro ATX AM4 (B450M Pro4-F) – offers improved features like USB 3.1 Gen2 and more ports.
- Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Micro ATX AM4 (B450 AORUS M) – strong benchmark scores, around 9800 points.

Ryzen processors:
- Ryzen 3600 delivers 17700 points at 117 pounds.
- Ryzen 1600 AF scores about 12500 points.
- Ryzen 1600 AF is essentially a rebranded version of the 2600, with similar performance metrics.

Prices vary:
- 5820k on eBay: ~95 dollars
- Ryzen 5 2600: ~130 pounds
- Ryzen 1600 AF: ~9752 pounds (Amazon.co.uk)
- 3900x with extra cooling: ~67 UK pounds
