Searching for affordable Wi-Fi cards suitable for gaming.
I can't keep my PC close to the router and can't route Ethernet properly. I'm searching for a Wi-Fi card under $40, preferably under $40, for gaming and YouTube use. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B350-DS3H and CPU is a Ryzen 3 2200G. It's located in the basement about 50-60 feet away from the main floor.
At that range across various levels you'll require an Ethernet connection; if you don't have one, the best alternative is a powerline adapter. Connecting the router to your living area where the computer is placed works well, but Wi-Fi isn't ideal for gaming, alright?
It could be quite a challenge. WiFi spreads farther horizontally than vertically. In my friend’s small home, the router sits on the loft floor and on the ground level, about two floors below, but reception drops significantly—well under 50 feet. Have you checked with a phone to gauge the signal there?
On my iPhone 6s I receive roughly 55mb during download and only about 7mb after upload, despite thin walls
