I'm searching for a game where you can drive ordinary, affordable vehicles that are common in real life. I want to enjoy a realistic driving experience without the flashy supercars. Something similar to older Forza Motorsports or all the Gran Turismo titles, but for PC.

I own beamng, but I find its physics off—the car moves too fast and it's mainly useful for crash tests.

It seems like you're making a statement about having limited options. The game City Driving Simulator appears to be a popular choice for many players.

the main focus seems to be on forza/forza horizon, possibly assetto corsa, rfactor 1/2 or pcars 1/2, though those titles aren't fully arcade-oriented with a lengthy setup. Crew 1/2 offers another option. thanks to the expansive open world, it feels more like a road trip experience, even though it branches into off-road sections and later includes boats and planes in the second game.

Consider any PS3 you can afford, the most affordable one you think will last, and Gran Turismo 5. For Gran Turismo 6 I might have mentioned last year, but since neither is currently online, a few cars from 6 that I liked in 5 stand out. The physics in 5 feel better, with more variety—especially in 6 where you can take corners too fast and the car just rolls over, which didn’t happen in 5. I own a 1080ti gaming PC and would also enjoy a driving game, but I haven’t found anything yet. For Gran Turismo Sport, I’d prefer a PS4, though I’d skip it for this kind of experience, as it has fewer cars and is much pricier.

If you manage to buy it, Driver: San Francisco might be an option.
