I need to find a suitable router for my setup. My current model is old, about 6-7 years, and it keeps showing high ping spikes on my wired network. The Wi-Fi signal isn’t strong enough. I’m looking for options that work well now, considering my budget of around $80 to $120 and the need for two USB ports. I’m using a low-speed fiber connection with 50 uplink/downlink and have six to nine devices connected, playing games and streaming video. I’ve tried ASUS and TP-link before, but I’m open to other recommendations.

Based on my observations: Netgear routers tend to have issues, while their switches perform well.

ASUS seems solid based on what I've heard. Netgear faces problems with their firmware, so it might not be worth it. TP Link is a more affordable option; they're decent when needed but may lack advanced features—stick to them only if you need a backup. As long as your router supports Wi-Fi and has two USB ports, you should be okay.
