Searching for a reliable file management solution.
I'm searching for a tool that scans all your storage devices for music files of any format and moves them to a single folder. It should also support other media types like pictures, and anyone knows of such a program?
Main control is my Favorite. 2 interfaces, supports compression/decompression, FTP and more. Works on Linux with Krusader.
You could use iTunes (though it might be unpleasant) to merge your library and organize everything into its own folder. It seems it doesn't handle Flac or Ogg files well, but it's a good beginning. After that, move the remaining Flac and Ogg files into the directories iTunes creates, then shut it down. The Total Commander will let you search and export the list to a box. After searching, click "feed to listbox" and transfer the files to your other panel. You can select items by clicking and dragging, sort them by date or filename, and add extra columns if needed. You can also adjust sorting options as required.
