I’m searching for a suitable new router. I’ve checked these three options on Amazon. Each has positive feedback, but I need to figure out which fits my needs best. I reside in a large Victorian home with thick walls, so signal strength is important. My existing router works fine, but I’d like to improve coverage and extend its reach. All devices—computers, consoles, TVs—are connected via Ethernet. I’m ready to share my speed test results if that helps decide.

I prefer my Google Wi-Fi, maybe you should think about that.

For a stable connection in a big house with heavy walls, consider adding several access points instead of relying on a single powerful router. This setup helps avoid weak spots and keeps you connected wherever you go.

I use a Ubiquiti USG for my router, connecting it to a POE switch that powers the Ubiquiti AC Pro. My home is 3140 square feet and everything works fine. The main point is where to place the AP. Ubiquiti offers mesh APs to simplify wiring and avoid running cables. Avoid getting the Nighthawk or Raptor—they come with too many features you can handle on a standard router, and some people find them overcomplicated. Saving money by doing it yourself instead of buying premium gear is definitely worth it.

Consider a router that supports QoS for Virgin. It significantly boosted your friend's ping times. Their devices struggle under heavy traffic, but switching to bridge mode lets you use a standard Ethernet router instead.

The present router setup isn’t great; I’d prefer to purchase a new one. I’ve been using a wall adapter to extend Wi-Fi throughout the house.

Ubiquiti offers high-quality equipment suitable for business environments. Their straightforward dual-port router (WAN/LAN) allows connecting multiple access points, though you'll need to lay cables to them.

Someone could check the links and suggest the most suitable option. It’s a tough choice—between the easy link method and the more involved night hawk approach!
