Hi, I have a Ryzen 5 2600 paired with a GTX 1070 and 16GB RAM. My budget is tight, and I need something affordable yet solid—no overclocking required. The case has a glass side panel, so I want a decent-looking motherboard that fits within a £50 budget (can go up to £60 if needed). I’m looking for options available on Amazon UK or Overclockers UK. Thanks in advance for any advice!

There aren't any good deals in that price range. Consider the Pro 4 or Pro VHD Max for lower costs only if necessary. If you have no choice, go with the DS3H.

Refrain from exposing MOSFETs and steer clear of reaching 50A. It’s best not to attempt it under any circumstances.

Looking for a VRM solution with a heatsink and decent efficiency, ideally Pro 4 or Pro VDH max. If that's not possible, consider a DS3H – it might not be top-notch but could handle the task.

These components transform 12V from the power supply into the voltage required by the CPU (ranging from 0.6V to 1.4V based on frequency). When those chips become too hot, the system instructs the CPU to lower its clock speed, reducing power consumption and enabling better cooling. This trade-off means performance drops if the chips consistently overheat. A less demanding processor, such as a low-power 4-core chip often found with integrated graphics, would function adequately in this setup since the heat output stays manageable (under 60W). However, for processors rated at 2600W or higher—those needing more than 80W—the chips generate excessive heat, requiring robust heatsinks or fans. In such cases, the CPU must throttle to maintain safe operating temperatures. The Gigabyte B450 DS3H is suitable for a 6-core processor, especially if overclocking isn’t a goal, and it’s reasonably priced at 66 pounds. Images show a heatsink on the board, which aids cooling; though not the most efficient design, it provides better results than none at all.
