You're facing challenges in finding a 7.1 surround setup for Linux. The Steelseries Arctis 7P+ is suggested but you're unsure about its compatibility without software or alternatives. Look into open-source options like the OpenGameArt or DIY setups, and verify their performance through testing.

Fyi all those 5.1, 7.1,... headsets are a bullshit. They have 2 drivers and are just 2.1 headphones where surround sound is being emulated. Its basically a gimmick. They can NOT work without their software as otherwise it wont know how to fake it. There are 2? actual 5.1/7.1 headsets that exist atm but a decent pair of cheaper headphones blows them far far far away.

I can verify compatibility for you. They're a slightly newer model that uses a USB A dongle rather than a USB C one. It still works with PS5 without any problems. Regarding audio formats, only two speakers are included in the headset, so surround sound is simulated.

Hello once more. Thank you for your patience. I almost missed it but then realized. The Steel Series Arctis 7 functions flawlessly on Fedora 38. The mic is working and the audio comes clearly from the wireless dongle.
