I searched extensively and couldn't locate a free File Explorer alternative between the outdated Windows File Explorer and the more sophisticated Double Commander file manager.
I've invested a lot of time trying to find the right keystroke or mouse action to create a new folder in Double Commander.
I still rely on it 99% of the time, but only use a tiny fraction of its capabilities. The rest feels unnecessary and disrupts my workflow.
Perhaps in the future I'll need a better feature, but currently it hinders rather than helps.
My main goal is to rename files, copy them, or delete them—features that are essential for a file manager.
The current version makes these tasks cumbersome and less intuitive.
I'm wondering if anyone knows a free, open-source File Explorer replacement that maintains the core functionality without complicating things.

Google and the New Google didn't inform me about this...
"press F7 key on keyboard to make new folder in double commander"
Seems you're surpassing our current technology!
Hehe. Thanks!

Menus, menus.
It also supports left click->new->folder, just like Windows does.
Navigating to configuration->options->keys->hotkeys provides a list of all commands you can execute with a key or key combination.

it might simply be referred to as a directory, as the term "folder" is an older classification for a directory.
