Searching for a durable laptop suitable for fieldwork.
Hello,
I'm searching for a laptop that fits these requirements:
1- No gaming needed.
2- Durable build to handle light physical damage.
3- Metal construction, not plastic (preferable for a stylish palm rest and appearance).
4- Suitable for fieldwork with resistance to dust and heat.
5- Occasional heavy CPU tasks.
6- Strong CPU for long-term reliability.
7- Screen: 400+ nits, 1440p+, about 15 inches. Color accuracy and refresh rate aren't critical.
8- Desirable a sleek design since the cooling system won't be bulky.
Other features aren't a priority.
Could you recommend a few options? Ideally, they should be more affordable than the X1 Carbon.
Thanks in advance.
It seems there was a misunderstanding regarding your query. The phrase "tough laptop" in the title doesn't match what you're asking about.
Cheap or Tough or New – choose two.
Initially, when evaluating toughbooks from a budget standpoint, they implemented a policy of three laptops per person. This included two complimentary replacements, followed by departmental fees for any replacements needed.
They overlooked the potential downtime and issues that could arise after the first hundred drops, such as crushing or melting. In our next offering, we included hardware alongside toughbooks.
