I've tried several free tools for recording games, but none matched your setup perfectly. For your EVGA 970 with 16GB RAM and FX-8350 CPU on a 1080p display, I recommend using GameSpot or Game Bar (Windows) for smooth recording. Both offer good performance and compatibility. Let me know if you need more details!

You seem to be playing around with numbers—shadowplay, right? If you're at 970, that's fine. Otherwise, let's keep it light.

There are options like XSplit, OBS, and Shadowplay. XSplit offers more features such as different scenes, multiple FPS, screen sections, and plugins for notifications. OBS provides similar capabilities but in a less polished interface, making it harder to use compared to XSplit. Shadowplay is another choice. I prefer tools that match your preferences in usability and appearance. As always, test them all and choose the one that feels right for you.

OBS definitely works, it's completely free and super adaptable.
