Minecraft XDDD was priced at $20, but it’s a great solo experience. On sale it drops below $10, and you can find it for about $7 on certain sites selling CD keys. It’s mod-friendly, though only new maps are available. Space Engineer meets your needs with lots of mods and solid singleplayer gameplay for around $6.

Mafia 2 is currently available. I'm finding the narrative engaging despite the graphics becoming a bit outdated.
